Attract new high-level business in 2023
I’m a firm believer that most professional services businesses, such as creative agencies and accounting and legal firms, don’t truly understand what they’re selling, or what their customers are buying.
They think they sell time or deliverables. But this is wrong.
What they really sell is expertise that helps their customers reach their desired results (which is far more valuable and profitable than production time or a deliverable).
And the widely regarded expert on expertise is David C. Baker. If you haven’t heard of him yet, you should.
Baker co-hosts the always insightful 2 Bobs podcast (with Blair Enns, another name you should know). He also authored The Business of Expertise and Financial Management of a Marketing Firm.
He offers six ideas to attract new higher-level customers to your business in this Forbes interview.
