They have a conference for this!?
About five years ago, my mentor helped me start my accounting firm with a relatively simple business model: providing clients with tax and accounting service and advice for a flat, monthly fee.
Unlike most accounting firm owners, I’ve never tracked or billed clients for my time. I’ve only done a handful of individually-priced projects, and I never felt entirely comfortable pricing or completing those contracts.
I’ve always appreciated the peace of mind and consistency that comes along with subscription-type arrangements. If the product or service brings you value, then you should have access to it whenever you need or want it, but only for as long as you continue to find value.
I know I’m not alone in thinking like this, not even close.
But when I saw in my pal Jason Resnick’s email newsletter that he’s speaking at a conference all about recurring revenue next week, I knew I had to be part of that event.
I mean, it’s a conference…
About recurring revenue…
And it’s at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort!
So next week I’ll be attending the Recurring Revenue Retreat. I’m looking forward to learning more about recurring revenue models for my business as well as my clients' businesses.
There are a bunch of benefits to recurring revenue for both businesses and their customers. I’ve already mentioned a couple of them here. But there are three general ways recurring revenue helps you and your business:
- Easier management of profitability
- Steadier cash flow
- Greater longterm valuation
Between now and the conference, I’ll be sharing some thoughts and experiences I’ve had with recurring revenue and break down those three kinds of benefits.
So let me know…
Are you earning recurring revenue in your business?
Or are you trying to find a way to introduce recurring revenue into your business?
And if you were going to a conference about recurring revenue, what questions would you ask the speakers?
